It was pretty crazy and on Saturday I thought I was going to die. I could not stop throwing up. Eventually it got to that yellow foul tasting stuff which I think comes from the gall-bladder. But I recovered after sleeping nearly the whole day, occasionally waking up to spew more yellow crap. I feel really bad about missing work.

Anyways, from aaaages ago, here is me being a superhero:

It was ages ago when this was taken. Semrah and Marlena and I were working at Varsity stadium at some crazy sale and we noticed the air blowing up from the vents were very Marilyn. Looking good right? Someone please help my self-esteem here hahahahahahaha no.

In any case I’m still not really in a state to write any more than what I have. I’m finishing my column up (edits) and going to bed. Love you all.

It’s been crazy here

So I haven’t written anything at length because I’ve been incredibly busy with working and schooling and fitnessing (is fitnessing a word? no… training? working out? getting huge guns?). I’ve just started to go to Muay Thai more often and apparently all of my techniques are crap, so I have to practice more on my own until I get it. Today I’m so sore I cannot walk up stairs without feeling it.

Anyways, I think tomorrow night I will start to work on my new Russian blog and actually post something on my Finnish one. I managed to at least pack a lunch today, thank gods. I made kamut pasta with leeks, bok choi, spring onion and a delicious balsamic dressing. I hope it’s healthy enough ;-;. I have also been drinking almost excessive amounts of tea, hopefully to stay any illness that approaches me.

The best kind of tea. I found this in Iceland in 2010.

Lately I’ve been writing a lot. I hope maybe soon I’ll have some stories I can share with you.

It’s snowing today, and I only noticed as I was getting off the streetcar to come to work. It’s beautiful small snow, which reminds me of the light steam in the steam room yesterday. Small little beads falling from the sky, catching and reflecting the light. Beautiful. I love snow.

I’ve been reading Codename: Sailor V and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon lately and my childhood obsession is coming back to life. When I go to my parents for January Christmas (my brother and his fiancée were away in South Africa with her parents), I will probably make a collage like the Honey and Clover one I made ages ago:

Which reminds me I never finished collecting them. I still have 2 or 3 volumes to read. Though I watched the movie and it was not half bad.

23 before 23

So, inspired by Rachel’s 26 before 26 (and 25 before 25) at Crook and Villain, I have decided to create a more low-tech version (hers is on a nice floral background but I am at work and lazy) of my own, 23 before 23, though my birthday was now 2 months ago (exactly o_O) and I haven’t done anything since then of note… sort of.

Without further ado, the list:

Get into the grad school of my choice and embark upon an interesting thesis topic
Get into Suomea Suomessa and spend the summer in Finland, speaking only Finnish. (2b. Visit Kimmo and Kari in Vaasa)
Complete fluency in Russian.
Get my G2 license
Keep my space tidy.
Keep track of my money in a logical manner.
Learn at least one new practical, outdoors-type skill. (7 alternate, become more competent at canoeing).
Finish a painting every month (8b. and post it here)
Eat no packaged foods (apart from yogourt and other difficult-to-make-at-home products).
Train every week at least once in any martial art.
Update my blog every day with something.
Update my Finnish blog every day with something.
Start and update a Russian blog every day with something.
Make beer, at least once before I leave Toronto.
Stop buying books until I finish what I already have. (15b. Use the library more often)
Look good every damned day. (16 alternative: Post outfit photos every day)
Use my lunchbox every day that I go out. (17b. Post photos of my amazing lunchbox lunches)
Make sushi from scratch.
Make more clothes and accessories. Be more crafty.
Clear out things from my life that I don’t need or that are holding me back.
Take more photographs and start a portfolio page for them. (21b. A personal website)
If number 1 happens, spend more time studying and hitting the books so I don’t have to pull any all-nighters. (22b. Go to bed at a reasonable time)
Do something out of my comfort zone, like skydiving or camping or painting with oils.

So that’s it. My 23 goals before I am 23. I hope I can manage all of them. Tomorrow I’ll make a visual list.
